Mudeung Mountain 무등산

Mudeung Mountain (無等山) is the most famous landmark of Gwangju. Regarded as the guardian mountain of the city, the citizens take great pride in this mountain. Every weekend, people from all over the city come to stroll, hike, or simply visit the temples and its many attractions. The mountain is also famous for photo opportunities in all seasons. In 1972, the mountain became a National Park.

Highest peak: Cheonwangbong (1187 m)

To get to the mountain area, you can take a downtown bus either to Jeungsimsa or Wonhyosa.
